Leprechauns XI vs St.Columba's

Leprechauns XI vs St.Columba's

The annual cricket match between the Leprechauns and the College took place yesterday on a fine afternoon. A draw was the outcome of an entertaining match where the visitors notched up 195 for 4, setting a formidable target for the senior XI.  They managed a very respectable 178 for 9 in their allotted overs.  Photographed are Patrick Tice (left), who has been selected for the Irish u19 squad preparing for the World cup this summer, and Philip Blackley, captain of the senior XI and who scored an unbeaten 79 in the match. Patrick will succeed Philip as captain of the College senior team. 

The team that represented the Leprechauns was: William Blackley (OC), Charles Butler (OC), LIam Canning (OC), Paul Cron, Dick Forrest (captain), William Gibbs (OC), Lingard Goulding, Chris Harte, Jonathan Harte, Ian Walshe and Trevor White (OC).

The College was represented by: Neil Scott, Tom Crampton, Richard Matushka, Sean Ralston, Tom Gibbs, Ross Canning, James Bowlby, Conor Mc Cooey, Eochy O'Conor, Patrick Tice (wk), Philip Blackley (captain) and member of staff, Ian O'Herlihy.
