The College is of course aware of the concern around the spread of the Coronavirus. We are mindful that there will be a number of parents who are concerned about the health of their children and we would like to assure you that we are assessing any potential risks regularly. The well-being of our whole school community, especially that of pupils from China and other affected areas, is of the utmost importance at this time. We have directly contacted families most likely to be affected.

The College has taken guidance from the Boarding Schools’ Association. Also, the only official Irish advice on the situation comes from the Department of Foreign Affairs, and is regularly updated here.

We have a small number of pupils who live in mainland China, and they have been advised not to travel home for half-term, since it is possible that they will not be permitted to return to Ireland, and indeed that airlines will suspend their routes. This will ensure there is no break in these pupils’ schooling.

Parents who wish to clarify any matters should contact the school.

This website general information post will be updated when/if there is any change in official advice.
