Form I Trip to Carlingford
Below is a pupil report on the recent Form I trip to Carlingford and Armagh, for some outdoor activity and team building.
This year, the first years went on an induction trip to Carlingford in Co Louth. It was a small town that looked perfect, but the only thing wrong was the rain. The first thing we did was drop our bags in a storage room and went straight to the first activity, which was laser tag. It was so good; the teams were blue vs red; somehow, it basically was girls v boys. But we all took it really seriously. We all had great fun. Afterwards, we got lunch. We had beans, chips and chicken tenders. After lunch, we were supposed to do some water activities but the bad weather meant that we went to a place called Sky Park. There were really good zip lines but I would’ve liked to get more goes.
Then we went back to the accommodation to check in to our rooms. After we got our rooms, we went down for dinner we had a pasta dish. After dinner, we walked up the mountain to do our last activity. It was a maze but we were all blindfolded by the end there were lots of small little groups. And then we did the best one that everyone probably agrees on – it was just a walk in the dark but it was very enjoyable. The next day we got on the bus to the Armagh Planetarium, where there were pieces of asteroids and we watched a movie on their 360 dome screen. It was great. We also made rockets; some were good, some not so good. And on the way back we stopped off at a place called Castlebellingham where we had lunch and then returned to SCC. Overall, it was a great trip.
