The Warden David Gibbs Bursary Fund

Find out more about the College’s ‘Warden David Gibbs Bursary Fund’ and how you can support us in achieving its ambitious aims.

The Warden David Gibbs Bursary Award

The Warden David Gibbs Bursary Award has been set up by the generous support of a former pupil of Warden Gibbs from when he was the headmaster of St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling, India.

David Gibbs was a huge advocate of the kind of all-round education provided by St. Columba’s College. This annual award will be made annually for 10 years to a pupil who is making a full contribution to the life of the College in both  Sports and the Arts.

Please note – Gifts over €21 or per month or €250 per year allow the College to claim an additional tax relief on this contribution amplifying the impact of your gift.

Ukraine Bursary Fund

St. Columba’s College, like all schools, are having to play their part in welcoming Ukrainian refugees into their communities. We do not have the capacity to offer a large number of places, but we have offered places to three Ukrainian pupils to come here as boarders since last September; a boy in Form I and a girl in Form II. Additionally, we welcomed a young Ukrainian Maths teacher to the Common Room for this academic year.

The Ukraine Bursary Fund is designed to assist with pupil fees but, for the most part, for other expenses such as uniform, travel and even, if it should prove necessary, counselling.

I am very pleased by how these young people have settled into College routines and by what they bring to our school community. We know that we are blessed to have what we have and I hope that we can play our part in making life considerably more hopeful for these wonderful children and our member of Staff.
