Columba’s Connects Event

It was a beautiful day for our first Columba’s Connects event on 24th April 2026. The gathering marked the 183rd anniversary of the College’s founding and brought together Columbans, past and present, in a warm and memorable way. Hosting the event in Oscar Wilde House made the occasion particularly special. Oscar Wilde’s brother, William Wilde, attended St Columba’s College in 1863, twenty years after its opening. Oscar himself had been expected to follow, but after a scandal involving their father emerged in 1864, both brothers were instead sent to Portora Royal School in Enniskillen in February of that year.

Guests enjoyed a tour of the house led by Martin Burns, House Director at Oscar Wilde House, along with live music from Aidan Roberts. A selection of delicious refreshments were provided by KC Peaches.

Here are some photos from a wonderful event.
