Arts Week 2026

As we approach the end of term, we are delighted to share the jam-packed programme for our upcoming Arts Week in the new year. It promises to be a vibrant celebration of creativity and culture.

Programme Highlights

Workshops & Talks: Pupils will enjoy a diverse range of workshops and activities, including percussion, public speaking and improvisation, ceramics, flower arranging, and ‘Fighting Words’. We are also thrilled to welcome back author Dave Rudden to speak with junior pupils about his work as a writer.

Music & Dance: The week begins with an organ recital in Chapel by Dr. Patrice Keegan and includes a candlelit concert by the renowned Castle String Quartet on Friday night. There will be lunch-time concerts and opportunities for bands to perform. We will concurrently celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge with a Céilí on Wednesday evening and the Pupils’ Council Disco on Saturday, which will include a themed photo booth to capture precious memories for the College Archives.

Food Festival: We are excited to present the inaugural St. Columba’s College Food Festival, sponsored by Baxter-Storey, featuring award-winning chef Mark Moriarty. There will be cookery demonstrations, pupils will be provided with lunch from one of the pop-up stalls and producers will also be displaying their wares throughout the day. Tickets will be available early next term – an ‘IOU’ for this event would make an excellent Christmas stocking filler!

Celebrations: The week concludes with the first Arts Dinner on Saturday evening, during which we will award the Musarum Comites and, finally, the annual Music Prize Concert on Sunday evening, which parents are most welcome to attend.
